The Heart of the Atchafalaya Museum's 2026 Valentine’s Day fundraiser was a great success. As it stands now we are looking to net approximately $117,000! We cannot say “thank you” enough to our sponsors, those who attended and/or donated, community, friends, family, servers, cooks and anyone involved with this event. Without your support none of this would be possible.

As soon as the museum is opened, there will be various events, like our annual Valentine’s Day Fundraiser, dedicated to raise money for the operations of the museum but we have to build it! With the donation from Performance Contractors and our amazing team of grant writers, who has done a great job of applying for and securing state and federal funds to assist in the construction, ground breaking should begin around mid May 2026.

Our beautiful Pavilion is built and the historical barn is in place and walking trails are being designed. Our dream is finally coming true! We’ll have a museum like no other! Preserving our history and culture for all generations now and to come is our main objective. We have such a strong and unique culture which deserves to be remembered.
